All drivers must watch an instructional video briefing before they are allowed to drive.
First time 4wding on Fraser? No problem! Our team provide maps and tide times; as well as detailed itineraries to suit tidal conditions. These will maximise the use of your time, will guide you through the island's tracks and provide insightful background into the destination's top locations.
Aussie Trax staff will provide all guests with a detailed safety and 4wding pre-travel briefing, before travel. This alerts guests to potential hazards and provide key tips to ensure you can navigate the island without hassle. In addition, the DERM website is a great resource on current conditions.
The cars are taken out full and returned full, there is no extra charge for kilometres. Should the car require refuelling Aussie Trax will charge $3.00 per litre to refuel the vehicle at the hirers' cost.
A vehicle permit to drive on Fraser Island is required by Queensland National Parks and Wildlife Service. This permit is normally purchased at the time of hire (from the resort reception) and is not included in the rates. This is a National Park fee. Aussie Trax will charge an administration fee of $8.50 per for each National Park permit issued.
